My Prayer

Dear God

Please bless the people who have coronavirus and are suffering from
it. Help them find a cure for all the people around China and other
countries who have it for them to get better. Make it go away because
since  it has been happening they can’t go to other countries to see
their families because they don't want it to spread. Also pray for
them so their families won’t get it too. Please bless each one of them
who have it and pray that they will get better.

St Mary Mackillop

Today in Room 2 we  have been making posters about St Mary Mackillop.
I hope you learn new facts about her.

My last day at the Swimming Pool

It was the last day we only had two weeks and two days extra. On the last day we went on the boat we had to go in groups. We went on the boat first and dived in backwards. We dived a safe way that the instructor wanted us to do. Then we went under the boat. The boat had an air gap. I went under to say hi. The instructor also asked questions like why is the boat flipped over. I didn’t know what the lesson was about, so the instructor said when it rains or when it is stormy you can go under the boat and you don’t get hurt. After this I had to go to the other instructor to get out. When everybody was ready Miss Paton told us to line up and she would count all of us. We were all there. I was sad because it was the last day of swimming for the school. I was still happy that we even had swimming lessons. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the swimming lessons. I think my swimming had improved over the ten lessons.

Swimming Recount

I was so excited to finally go swimming. It was only the first day. We had to wait until 10:10AM so a whole hour. I was waiting while doing school work. It was time to get ready. We had a snack and then waited in line to go on the bus for swimming. We started walking to the bus. I walked into the bus excitedly for swimming. It only took 5 minutes to get to the pools for swimming. We saw the other class that went swimming. I entered the changing room to take my uniform off, which was on top of my swimming togs. Then one of the swimming teachers came and put us in groups. My group was Sisiliah, Jia, Dwight, Ken.P, Siaki and Ching. I was in group three and I was with Rebbeca. First we did starfish on our front for five seconds. I couldn't breath that long so I put my head up for 1 second. Then I put my head back in the water. We had to flip over on our back. Next we did swimming on our backs all the way to the other side and then swam back. Rebbeca told us to swim without anything and at the end we played a game of who could get the ring first. It wasn't a real ring. I had to get a floatation ring. I was the third person in my group to get it.

Treaty of Waitangi Information Report

A treaty is a formally written document / contact.
The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on 6th February 1840.
40 Maori chiefs signed the treaty as well as European
British settlers. At the end of 1840, 500 hundred Maori
people signed the Treaty. Some Maori used their
moko as a signature. Thirteen women signed the treaty.
William Hobson helped write the Treaty of Waitangi,
Missionaries Henry William and his son Edward helped
translate the treaty in Maori. There were debates about
that the Maori and English were different but Hone Heke
Pokai and Tamati Waka Nene said it was a good idea.
